Diffusion model
A diffusion model is a type of generative AI that creates images, video or audio by starting from random noise and gradually refining it into a clear result.
Also called diffusion, latent diffusion
In more detail
During training, the model watches real images get blurred with more and more noise, and learns to reverse each step. To create something new, it starts from pure noise and removes it step by step, guided by your prompt.
Diffusion powers most AI image generators and many text to video tools. Earlier image generators often used GANs.
