Inpainting
Inpainting is AI image editing that fills or replaces a selected area of a picture, such as removing an object or changing a shirt’s colour.
Also called outpainting, generative fill, AI image editing
In more detail
You mark the area to change and describe what should be there, and the AI blends new content into the scene. Outpainting is the reverse: extending an image beyond its original edges.
Photo editors now offer this as one-click features like object removal and generative fill.
Example
Removing a stranger from the background of a holiday photo.
