AI content detector
An AI content detector is a tool that estimates whether text or images were made by AI. Its results are guesses, not proof.
Also called AI detector, AI checker, GPT detector
In more detail
Text detectors look for statistical patterns typical of language models. They can be fooled by light editing or humanizers, and they sometimes flag human writing, particularly by non-native English speakers, as AI.
Because of these errors, a detector score alone shouldn’t be used to accuse someone of cheating.
