Deep learning
Deep learning is a type of machine learning that uses neural networks with many layers to learn complex patterns in text, images and sound.
In more detail
“Deep” refers to the many layers in the neural network. Early layers pick up simple features, like edges in a photo; later layers combine them into complex ones, like faces.
Deep learning needs large amounts of data and computing power, usually on GPUs. It is behind nearly every recent breakthrough in AI, including large language models, image generators and speech recognition.
