AI washing
AI washing is exaggerating or misrepresenting how much a product uses AI, or what its AI can do, to make it sound more advanced.
In more detail
Like greenwashing for environmental claims, AI washing uses “AI-powered” as a marketing label. Regulators in some countries have fined companies for misleading AI claims.
When comparing tools, look for specifics: what the AI actually does, what it can’t do and how results are checked.
