AI wrapper
An AI wrapper is an app built on top of someone else’s AI model, adding its own interface, prompts or workflow rather than its own model.
Also called GPT wrapper, LLM wrapper
In more detail
Most AI products are wrappers in some sense, and that isn’t a bad thing: a good one saves you time by packaging the right prompts, data and integrations for a specific job.
The term is sometimes used critically for apps that add little beyond what the underlying chatbot already does. When comparing tools, look at what each adds: workflow, integrations, data handling or quality.
