Negative prompt
A negative prompt tells an AI image generator what you don’t want in the picture, such as “blurry, extra fingers, text”.

Some tools, especially those built on Stable Diffusion, have a separate field for things to avoid. It is a simple way to fix recurring problems without rewriting your main prompt.
Chat-based image tools usually handle this in plain language instead, for example “no people in the background”.

Prompt: “studio photo of a ceramic mug”. Negative prompt: “text, logo, watermark, dark shadows”.
