AI safety
AI safety is the work of making sure AI systems behave reliably and don’t cause harm, from everyday mistakes to serious misuse and long-term risks.
In more detail
Safety work includes testing models for dangerous capabilities, red teaming, building guardrails, preventing misuse and studying how to keep advanced systems aligned with human intentions.
Some researchers focus on harms happening now, like misinformation and scams; others on risks from much more powerful future systems. Both are part of the field.
