AI automation
AI automation uses AI to handle repetitive work automatically, such as sorting emails, extracting data from documents or drafting replies.
Also called AI workflow automation, intelligent automation
In more detail
Traditional automation follows fixed rules: “when a form is submitted, add a row to the spreadsheet”. Adding AI lets automations handle messy inputs, like understanding what an email is about or pulling details from an invoice.
Many no-code tools now include AI steps, so non-programmers can build these workflows.
Example
Every new invoice emailed to you is read by AI, its total and due date are added to your accounts sheet, and you get a reminder.
