Vibe coding
Vibe coding is building software by describing what you want in plain language and letting AI write and fix the code, often without reading it closely.
In more detail
The term was coined by AI researcher Andrej Karpathy in early 2025. It makes it possible for non-programmers to build simple apps, prototypes and personal tools quickly.
Code you haven’t reviewed can hide bugs and security holes, so anything that handles real users, payments or private data still needs careful checking. See AI coding assistant.
Example
“Make me a web page that tracks my plant watering schedule and reminds me by email.”
