Automation bias
Automation bias is the tendency to trust a computer’s answer more than we should, and to check it less carefully than we would a person’s.
Also called overreliance, AI overreliance
In more detail
Fluent, confident AI answers make this easy to fall into. It can lead to missed hallucinations, wrong decisions and skills fading when people stop thinking things through.
Good habits include checking important facts, asking for sources and keeping a human in the loop with real authority to overrule the AI.
